Knowledge of the Stars
The word astrology translates from Latin into English as 'knowledge of the Stars'.
It is a field of study that explores the effect the position and movement of the planets and stars have on humans. This effect is communicated to us via the solar winds as it interacts with the Earth's magnetic field. The magnetic field manifests as bands of energy referred to as the elements (fire, water, air, earth).
This interaction is perceived through the autonomic nervous system, the endocrines, chakras and psychic centers.
Through astrology the flow of energy becomes understandable to the intellect.

The following Principles must be kept in mind.
-
Everything that we experience is energy and awareness
-
Matter is simply dense energy
-
Everything vibrates and every person is a cluster of energy constantly swirling around
-
Everything has polarity and is striving for dynamic equilibrium
-
Energy and thought co-arise, but intentional thought can direct energy
-
Energy and awareness flow by arising, stabalising and dissolving
-
Energy and awareness flow into channels and settle into 'templates'
-
Energy and awareness flow into channels where there is the least resistance by making use of relay points

A Birth Chart
A birth chart is determined by using the date, time and place of birth. The moment of first independent breath.
It is a picture of the heavens at the moment of our birth.
It represents the predisposition a person is born with. How the energy will flow unless redirected by the Will. Until we become more conscious or present, we are little more than zombies.
You could therefore say this is your factory setting. Your karmic scorecard. The game you set up and then forgot about.
It contains 12 houses, each of which reflect an area of life. In other words, WHERE our planetary urges want expression.
The birth time provides insight into which sign, and planet appear in which house of the birth chart and shows how the planets aspect each other.
Once we know what our predispositions are, we can strengthen our weaknesses and redirect dysfunctional aspects of ourselves by channeling our energy more elegantly.

A Solar or Sunrise Chart
This chart is used when no birth time is available.

Planets
Planets relate urges, needs and tendencies (our vibe). In other words, WHAT we do.
Every person has certain biological urges including food, water, safety, survival and sex. We also have phycological urges for romance, recognition, power, spirituality, etc.
The placement of the planets on the birth chart gives a view of the unique configuration of these urges in each person. What drives our behaviour.

A planet represents a node of energy in perpetual activity seeking balance through self-expression. The type of planet indicates the template of activity. Each person will have a unique way of expressing these urges.

Transits
Transits represent the rhythm our lives have.
A transiting planet represents the position of that planet at the moment the transit is observed. In other words, where the planets are now.
Transiting planets aspect each other as they move and aspect the planets in a natal chart creating harmonious and stressful experiences throughout a person's life.
