How inner alignment shapes outer reality
Life doesn't happen to people, it happens through them. In response to them. As a reflection of them. That's because people are not just flesh and blood, they are also bioelectrical and bioelectromagnetic organisms.
The internal state of a person - the quality of their thoughts, their emotions, where they place their attention, their expectations - all collectively change their perception, decision-making capacity and behavior. This change in turn cascades down to effect how others respond to them, what opportunities they'll notice and how their lives unfold over time.
That's because a person's internal state creates an electromagnetic signal. That signal is literally magnetised to pull toward them experiences which match the vibration of the signal they've created. Changing the signal, changes the experiences magnetised in that person's direction.
This article explores a set of exercises which, if repeated over time, will generate the signal that vibrates according to the experiences you want out of life. Just like physical exercise strengthens your muscles, these exercises will strengthen your mind, your emotional capacity and the electromagnetic signal you are sending out.
Understand also that the above implies something important. Making external changes are also a requirement. The thing is though, alone, they are not enough. External changes are superficial if your internal state remains the unchanged. Internal changes alone are also superficial if you don't act on the new experiences being drawn toward you. Both are a requirement to change the life you live now.
It starts first thing in the morning as you wake up.
The Morning Alignment
The first 10 minutes of your day sets the tone for the next 4 to 6 hours.
Here's what to do:
Before you open your eyes and get out of bed, bring your attention to your heart center and begin breathing slowly.
5 seconds inhale through the nose and 5 seconds exhale through the mouth.
Take your awareness to your nostrils and your breath. Keep your attention on nothing but else but your breath by focusing on the air coming into your nose and out of your mouth.
After about 2 minutes of this your heart heart beat will be calm and steady.
You’ll feel it. There is a subtle shift, like a softening in your chest.
Once you feel that, you are going to add a specific visualisation.
On your inhale imagine energy/light being drawn up the back of your spine from the base at your hips to the crown of your head.
On your exhale imagine that energy flowing down the front of your body from your crown through your face, throat, chest, belly and back to the base of your spine.
This process is cycling energy though the microcosmic orbit of the Taoist system in coordination with your breath.
Up is activating, down is relaxing. Balancing yin and yang. Synchronising your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
Do this for 2 minutes.
Next you add emotion. Recall a past moment when you felt genuine gratitude. A moment when you were so filled with appreciation that it overflowed from you.
Now relive it. See what you saw, hear what you heard, feel what you felt. Let it build in your chest and expand until you can feel it tingling in your fingers and your toes.
Stay in this state for 3 to 5 minutes.
For the final 5 minutes. Imagine your day unfolding.
See it unfolding through your eyes, feeling what you are feeling. How do you move through the world. What’s your internal dialogue like. How do you respond to challenges. What does success feel like in that body.
See yourself in the meetings, activities and conversations that you have planned. But see yourself moving through them with the energy, confidence and clarity of a future self. Feel it.
Now get out of bed and start your day.
Your brain is firing the same neural networks it would be firing if you were actually living that reality. You are releasing the same neurochemicals. You’re creating the same electromagnetic signature.
You are not just visualising; you are physically reorganising your nervous system.
During the course of the day life unfolds and often that unfoldment leads to loosing touch with the visualised version of you, you created that morning. But fear not. Below are 2 additional exercises to assist in maintaining that visualised self as long as possible.
The (Mis)Alignment Check In
This is a check in exercise to be done throughout the day.
Because starting your day in alignment is one thing, staying there is another. Life happens.
Ideally do this three times a day. Midmorning, after lunch and after work or in the afternoon.
It takes 60 seconds.
Pause and scan your internal state. Take a breath and ask yourself, what am I actually feeling in my body right now? Is there tension anywhere, what’s your jaw like. How is your breathing. Notice it and name it. I notice that I am feeling… anxious, frustrated, annoyed, joyful, content, excited.
The first step is awareness. Noticing that you are feeling a certain way.
Now you have a choice. You can consciously shift it with the next practice.
Breath Alignment
This also only takes 60 seconds.
Place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly.
Relax your jaw if its clenched. Relax your shoulders if they are tensed.
Take a deep breath through your nose for 5 counts.
Your belly must expand first and then your chest. Hold it for 5 counts.
Then slowly exhale through your mouth for 7 counts.
Feeling your chest release first and then your belly.
When your exhale is longer than your inhale it activates your vagus nerve. That triggers your parasympathetic nervous system. You are telling your body that you are safe, using your breath as the signal.
Do this for a a minimum of 3 cycles.
On the fourth cycle you are going to consciously choose an emotional state. Be it safety, gratitude, curiosity, power, peace.
Start to generate that feeling as you breath.
The more you practice this the faster you will achieve the desired state. One day you will be able to shift in one breath. Once those neural pathways are wired, they become easier and easier to step into. Eventually they become your default state.
The Evening Alignment
Every evening before you fall asleep, replay your day.
Scan your day and identify 3 moments where you felt alive, grateful, connected or joyful.
It can be a moment as simple as your coffee tasting just right.
Relive each of these 3 moments for 30 seconds. Re-experience it as vividly as you can. Let the emotion build and fill your chest.
Fall asleep form that state. Let those feelings be the last things in your consciousness as you drift off.
The above exercises are done daily to align the mind, the heart and the electromagnetic field. After just a few days you will have a clear view of your habitual feelings, thoughts and signals as you fight them off in the morning and during the day. Having this perspective speeds up the change. Have a look at who you really are and then turn yourself into who you want to be.
Below is an additional exercise designed to reshape who you are now into that future self you've always wanted to be.
Future Self-Installation
This is done once a week and takes approximately 20 minutes.
Do this exercise at the same time, on the same day and in the same place as far as possible.
Sit or lie down comfortably with your spine straight.
Wear headphones to prevent any noise disturbance or interruptions that might distract your focus. Play meditative music, sounds of nature, running water or white noise that allows you to relax.
Close the blinds, the curtains and the door.
Put your phone in a different room.
During the exercise try not to move at all. Resist the urge to move. Bring your attention to your breath.
Start with the breathing exercise. 5 seconds in through the nose and 5 seconds out through the mouth.
Take your attention to your heart centre as you breath and stay in this space for 2 minutes.
Next you are going to step into your future self.
The version of you that’s living the reality you desire. The fully embodied you living the life you are creating right now.
If at first it seems difficult or unrealistic. Fake it.
Don’t just watch yourself like a movie. Step into that body.
Feel what they feel. How does morning feel in this body. What’s the quality of your inner dialogue when they wake up. how do you move through space. What’s your relationship to challenge, to people, to success.
Make it specific. Where do you live. What do you see when they open your eyes. What does your space feel like. Who is a part of your life. What do you do for a living. How do you feel about yourself.
Take yourself through a day. Feel every moment from when you wake up to when you get back into bed. Try to engage all your senses.
The key is duration. You need to stay in this state for at least 10 minutes.
This is because neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to rewire itself, takes requires sustained firing of neural networks. You are building to pathways.
Because this version of you exists as a possibility, you will start to collapse possibilities in the direction of that reality. By observing it and experiencing it with emotional intensity, you are collapsing electromagnetic waves towards its manifestation.
Why do these exercises work?
First lets points out the brain’s Reticular Activating System. A built‑in filter that determines what you notice and what you ignore. Your senses receive far more information than you can consciously process, so this system prioritises what feels relevant based on your focus, emotional state, and expectations.
When your thoughts and feelings are scattered or conflicted, the filter highlights confusion, threat, or limitation. When they are aligned and coherent, different information comes into view. New options, opportunities, and responses. The world hasn’t changed; the way you’re perceiving and interacting with it has. What you appreciate, appreciates.
Your nervous system learns through repetition and predictability. When you consistently think, feel, or behave in a certain way, the brain strengthens the neural pathways associated with that state. Over time, those patterns become easier, faster, and more automatic. This is due to neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize itself based on repeated experience.
Consistent practices (like breathwork, attention training, emotional regulation, or movement) teach the nervous system what is normal and safe, gradually shifting your baseline responses. In short, what you practice repeatedly becomes your default, not because of willpower, but because the nervous system adapts to efficiency.
The brain does not distinguish between what you vividly imagine and what is happening in reality. Your nervous system and your body respond equality to rehearsed internal experiences as it does to external reality. Your identity is built by repeated thoughts and experiences from your past. If you imagine new thoughts and experiences, it begins to rewire.
Eventually the gap between who you are now and who you are becoming closes.
For example, if you want to stop smoking. See yourself picking up a cigarette and being grossed out because you are not a smoker. Do this over and over again until one day you pick up the cigarette in real life and get grossed out. Rehearse this enough times and you will eventually start behaving that way.
Repetition is key, without it you will return to your old state.
These are the mechanisms through which your consciousness interfaces with reality. It's not about sitting on the couch visualising money appear in your back account. You are rewiring your nervous system to become more coherent with abundance.
You start to realise that it’s not about attracting anything, it’s about broadcasting the signal of that which you want.
This mean that your past doesn’t define your future unless you keep energising it with your attention. Your past conditioning does not define your future potential unless you keep feeding it energy through repetitive thought and feeling.
Your circumstances don’t limit you unless you accept them as permanent.
Change happens breath by breath, choice by choice, practice by practice.
